the Shiatsu experience...

what happens...

You'll be lying on a comfy mattress on the floor and as there's no oil you remain fully clothed, so its best to wear something loose and comfortable.

Afterwards you might feel a bit sleepy or you may feel energised, it just depends on how your body reacts to the energy changes that have occurred.  Either way, I'd recommend you allow yourself some quiet time afterwards so you can relish in your calmness and get the most out of your session.

Each Shiatsu treatment is unique - for you and for me!

You might experience sensations that are new to you, have thoughts or memories pop up that surprise you.  Some areas may feel a bit uncomfortable at first, but then the sensation will ease. Other points will have you floating off somewhere nice! However your session pans out, I can pretty much guarantee you'll feel better for having it!

how Shiatsu works...

For many different reasons the energy (also known as qi/ki/chi) that flows in your body gets blocked - some areas will feel in excess, and others deficient.  Both produce a symptom of dis-ease which you can feel physically, mentally and/or emotionally. Shiatsu (meaning "finger pressure") is when pressure is applied to specific points along the Meridians or Channels in your body.  As well as pressure, certain stretches and joint mobilisations are performed.  All of which aim to balance your "qi", thereby relieving your symptoms.
